Colorado Supreme Court

Politics:

The Colorado supreme courts decision to convict President Trump and bar him from the CO ballot was an unexpected surprise. Hopefully what has not gotten lost in all of the noise is that the peaceful transition of power is sacred to our national democracy and any effort to thwart or block that process is insurrection. It is up to our president’s to uphold this transfer, as well as defend it. The January 4th Committee made it clear that the then standing president made no effort to discourage inssurection, As well as no effort to defend our constitution, government, and our people. He ignored the advice of his advisors and willingly propagated a falsehood, that he had been cheated by false votes.

Le sigh,

The truth is that our former president, is a poor looser. Prior to the casting of the ballot the president was saying he would loose, repeatedly claming that he would be cheated, laying down a lie, so if he lost it would not be because of merit or lack of, no he was to be cheated.

And people believed him; or at least were willing to in order to get what they wanted.

I remember finding myself dumbfounded watching Jordan Tapper interview families at rallies and how the mother would always dismiss the president’s behavior and language, especially when it came to women.

Meh, “I’m over it”

Or perhaps “Ain’t nobody got time for that”.

Lets move back to the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision and recap.

Treason and insurrection are bad, and there are repercussions for participating in or enabling them. This is good; in order to protect our union, we must uphold the Constitution and the peaceful transfer of power. And repercussions need to be handed down. One such repercussion is that you can loose the right to be an elected official.

I think that is a fair punishment for dereliction of duty to our country.
